Care for the Carers

Newborn Home Visits

Our aim is to establish a Community Based Service which would help parents in their own home during the first months of their baby's life.

Why is it that we are tasked with caring for the most vulnerable being on Earth - the human baby - at a time when we are at our most exhausted, when we are chronically sleep deprived and, as mothers, when our hormones are on a roller coaster ride?

The answer is simple. We are not meant to do this alone.

The more parents are cared for, the better they can care for their children.

Rather than this being about judgment, unsolicited advice, or telling you how things should be, this would simply be someone coming to listen and lend you some much needed support and encouragement.

Secure early attachments are the foundation for both health and wellbeing and give rise to healthy adult relationships. In nurturing the parents, we would be helping to nurture the baby, the family and the wider community.

This would be a not-for-profit service and our aim would be to keep the fee as low as possible so as to be open to all families.

What would Volunteers do?

Volunteers would help with simple tasks such as folding and putting away laundry, looking after    the baby while the parent has a shower, playing with older siblings or maybe even just going for a walk with the parent and baby.
